When four-year-old Oakley began showing concerning symptoms, her parents sought help at urgent care before she was transferred to Hurley Children’s Hospital for specialized treatment. Doctors discovered her lung had completely collapsed and filled with fluid, leading to admission to the PICU and an emergency surgery that quickly improved her condition. When ongoing fevers persisted, Oakley was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and underwent additional treatments before finally returning home to her family. Thanks to the expert and compassionate care she received, Oakley is now a healthy, thriving five-year-old.
